There we were, walking the aisles of the annual American Toy Fair at the Javitz Convention Center in NYC, when we were stopped dead in our tracks by this beautiful doll in the Charisma Booth. We've visited with Charisma in the past, they are the parent company for Kewpie Dolls, Marie Osmand Dolls and several others, but they rarely carry African American baby dolls. So usually it's "Hi, how are you, how's business," etc.
But this year it was different! This year we found Allie! Allie is an 18" soft-bodied and vinyl "Gentle Touch" African American sleeping baby doll by Kymberlie Durden for the Treasury Collection of Paradise Galleries. She comes dressed in a beautiful 2 piece fleece sleeper, decorated with lace appliques and trimmed cuffs, and a matching lace bow in her soft curled hair. Her soft vinyl hands, feet and head are so well detailed that from across the room she looks like a real sleeping baby! (And she has the most beautiful long eyelashes!)
