So here's the story...

We get the Walter sample into the office on a day when one of the ladies has her little boy with her... had a Doctor's appt or something in a few hours... you know how it is...

So I show the Walter to Shawn and I ask him "Do you know who this is?" And he says "Sure, that's Walter. He's in the books." 

Well I knew he was in the books, the saleslady had told Addie and I all about Walter and his books and why we should carry him. 

So I said "Watch this!" and I squeezed the sound box, and Walter 'farted' and I have to tell you that kid cracked up. I mean rolling on the floor, howling, grabbing the toy and squeezing it over and over again - cracked up.

Kids - with their earthy humor and fascination with bodily functions - adore Walter! Squeeze Walter's belly and you know what happens!

You know when the Walter samples first arrived at our offices, and nobody had read the book yet, I got the look from the staff that said, "You've lost it Peter, we're not a gag company!" But when the orders started pouring in, and after the staff had all read the book, I was forgiven.

Yes, the kids are laughing at Walter - the story really is quite funny you know; but it's the enduring message of unconditional love that makes this "read it again" book so popular.
